October through May with majority of work in the spring.
Purpose
To assist deserving students by awarding scholarships for college.
How it works
The committee members hand deliver applications and cover letters to counselors in Rankin County public and private schools in the late fall. Application deadlines are to be returned to JARC by March and the committee selects the appropriate candidates. Awards are based on community service, academics, leadership and financial need. Committee members go to the Senior Awards ceremonies at the schools in May to present the scholarship certificates.
